LO1: What is my style of photography

For this report, I will talk about my own style of photography and the images I have taken so far in previous projects. This will help me plan my future shots as I will have an idea of what and where I want to shoot.

For my unit 3 course work I took studio portrait photos of classmates to pretend to be footballers and fans of the football club Doncaster Rovers. This was because it could not actually gather copyrighted photos off the internet or actually take portraits of the players themselves. To take the photos I used a Canon DSLR as that is currently my favourite camera to use because you can take some fantastic shots using this camera. After taking the photos with the DSLR, I then imported them into photoshop to start editing them.  Firstly, what I did was I increased the brightness and vibrance of my photos so they look better and the picture looks more alive. Additionally, I zoomed in on the photo of the two Rovers fans and I used the spot healing brush to remove any spots and blemishes which will make both of them look much better.

This is where I used the images that I took:

However, my favourite style of photography to look at is landscape urban photography as you can really capture some beautiful shots of large cities from around the world which highlights the incredible work that humans have done to build these fantastic monuments and also to make them look beautiful with the lights that they attach.
My ideal shot is of a sunset with buildings or bridges inform as it creates a silhouette effect and shows the combination of nature and mankind’s creation in one picture. The first image in this little storyboard is of the Golden Gate Bridge with a beautiful sunset in the background which creates a picture of colours that blend together to show off Earths looks with mankind's creation. This also uses the golden ratio as the main focal point of the photo is positioned slightly to the left.

The second image is a perfect example of a sunset that creates a silhouette of the buildings over a river with reflections onto the water. This creates a sense of mystery about the city as you cannot see the detail on the buildings. The third image is taken with a low shutter speed so you can capture the moving light which adds effect to the photo.

In conclusion, my style of photography is urban landscape photography ideally while the sun is setting as you can capture some beautiful shots which mix nature and mankind's creation.
